The West End Salisbury Transformed Empowered Neighborhood Development (WEST END) Byrne Criminal Justice Initiative (BCJI) local grant awardees have been announced. Salisbury agencies participating in the “Summer Youth and Family Capacity Program” are local, non-profit organizations developing community-led initiatives and programs that are youth and family-focused. Recipients will receive grants of up to $20,000.

Salisbury Fire Department (SFD) Division Chief Terry Smith has been promoted to deputy fire chief. In his new role, Smith oversees the fire department's administrative, support services, and fire prevention divisions. He will continue to oversee the new Fire Station 3 construction project.
This month’s employee spotlight is Jill Fisher, a senior utility customer service specialist. In her role, Jill welcomes residents to the City of Salisbury when they enter the Salisbury Customer Service Center to either open or close accounts for residential and commercial water, sewer, and sanitation.
