Warrants Obtained In Fatal Hit-And-Run Investigation
SALISBURY, N.C. — (April 22, 2026) — Arrest warrants have been obtained for two of the suspects involved in the fatal hit-and-run vehicle collision that occurred on February 20, 2026, at the intersection of South Main Street and Airport Road.
Tavita Garcia Diaz (DOB: 05/05/1996) and Victor Hugo Vasquez Morales (DOB: 08/31/1995) are both wanted for three counts of felony passenger fleeing the scene of a crash resulting in serious injury or death. Nationwide extradition has been authorized for both suspects.
On February 20, 2026, at approximately 10:40 p.m., the suspects’ vehicle turned left onto Airport Road from South Main Street and entered the path of four motorcycles traveling southbound.
As a result of the collision, Jody Holloman (DOB: 05/06/1971) was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two additional motorcyclists sustained serious injuries.
Immediately following the collision, three individuals exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. Through continued investigative efforts and information received from the public, detectives identified Garcia Diaz and Vasquez Morales as two of the occupants in the vehicle at the time of the collision. Both suspects remain wanted at this time.
The Salisbury Police Department continues to ask for the public’s assistance in locating both suspects. Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is encouraged to contact Traffic Crash Investigator Corporal Benjamin at 704-638-5333.
