SALISBURY POLICE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATING FATAL SHOOTING
SALISBURY, N.C. (June 28, 2026) — On Sunday, June 28, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers with the Salisbury Police Department responded to the area of 1518 East Innes Street following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds at a gas station located at that address. One victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. The second victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates the victims were located at the gas station; however, detectives believe the shooting itself occurred several blocks away at a nearby intersection. Investigators are actively working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting and to identify those involved.
The deceased victim’s identity is currently being withheld pending appropriate family notification.
The investigation remains ongoing with the assistance of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).
