Richard Witherspoon, Maintenance Worker
With his retirement approaching, this month’s spotlight highlights Richard Witherspoon. He is a part of the street division with the Salisbury Public Services Department.
Richard performs various functions throughout the city depending on the season and weather conditions. His duties can include limb and leaf collection, clearing catch basins and maintaining all city-owned roads, bridges, and sidewalks.
“I enjoy providing customer service to residents. On the job, we encounter community members who cannot do for themselves or have experienced a recent death in the family and it’s my job to provide that positive customer service. I enjoy going above and beyond to engage with all residents and to help resolve their concerns.”
