Main St. Conference Hosted By Salisbury This March

     The City of Salisbury and Downtown Salisbury, Inc. will host the 2019 North Carolina Main Street’s annual three-day conference from March 12 - 14. The conference theme is centered on the foundation of a solid Main Street program integrating a combination of time, talent, and money arranged like a well-run production, that generates measurable downtown revitalization results.

Sixth Chit, Chat & Chew Town Hall to engage Long Street area residents

Salisbury City Council and city staff will host the sixth in a series of community town hall meetings titled, Chit, Chat & Chew, Tuesday, Feb. 26, with dinner beginning at 5:15 p.m., at Park Avenue Community Center, 632 Park Avenue. This event will be held for residents in the “Long Street” area of the city, which encompasses neighborhoods such as Green Hills, Sedgefield Acres, Park Avenue, Brooklyn South Square, Lincoln Park, Town Creek Park, Bringle Ferry Road, Brookview, Cone Mills, and Melrose Heights.

Salisbury receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for FY 18

The City of Salisbury has been awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018. The award is considered the highest form of recognition in government budgeting and is the 27th consecutive year the city has received the award for its annual budget.
