Salisbury Mayor to host free baseball and softball youth camp

Salisbury Mayor Al Heggins will host a free baseball and softball camp for local youth at Catawba College, Saturday, Sept. 8, as part of the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) support of Major League Baseball's (MLB) "PLAY BALL SUMMER” initiative. The program focuses on the fun nature of baseball and encourages widespread participation in related activities.

Third Chit, Chat & Chew Town Hall to engage Southwest residents

Salisbury City Council and city staff will host the third in a series of community town hall meetings titled, Chit, Chat & Chew, Thursday, Aug. 23, with dinner beginning at 5:15 p.m., at Destiny City Church, 2324 S. Main St. This event will be held for residents in the “Southwest” area of the city, which encompasses neighborhoods such as the Lincoln Heights, King’s Forest, Matika Village and Forest Glen.
