A Festival To Cheer For

The 2022 Cheerwine Festival is just around the corner, set for Saturday, May 21, noon to 10 p.m. in downtown Salisbury.  Enjoy all things cheerwine at this popular festival! This free event features crafts, food, and family-friendly fun. Also enjoy live music from local bands as well as two headliner bands, Spin Doctors and Blues Traveler.

Employee Spotlight: Emily Vanek, Long-Range Planner

This month’s employee spotlight is Emily Vanek, a long-range planner for the City of Salisbury Planning Department. In her role, Emily works on historic preservation and long-range planning efforts such as the Forward 2040 Comprehensive Plan. On a day-to-day basis, she works with residents, property owners and developers to review their plans for consistency with the Local Historic Design Standards and Land Development Ordinance, and issues Certificates of Appropriateness. Emily serves as the staff liaison to the Historic Preservation Commission.
