The City of Salisbury and Rufty-Holmes Senior Center are excited to announce a series of input sessions for the Parks and Recreation & Senior Center Master Plan. These sessions offer residents the opportunity to provide input for the development of the new recreation, aquatics, and senior center project.
On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at approximately 10:03 PM, the Salisbury Police Department responded to 1205 South Main Street in reference to an individual who had sustained a gunshot wound. Arriving Officers located two females and one infant that had sustained gunshot wounds.

The Salisbury Police Department (SPD) is continuing its series of in-person conversations with the community, this time with a focus on engaging the Latino community Tuesday, April 23, at 5 p.m. at City Park, 316 Lake Dr.
The WEST END Byrne Criminal Justice Initiative (BCJI) Grant Coordinator Chanel Nestor submitted her resignation to Police Chief PJ Smith on Tuesday, April 16. Nestor was a coordinator for the Salisbury Police Department (SPD) for 18 months, managing the WEST END Grant project in the community’s West End.

At this time, no arrests have been made for either incident but the Salisbury Police Department is working with State and Federal partners to bring this investigation to a resolution and to develop ideas on how to prevent this kind of senseless violence.
Keisha Coxe, a parks and recreation professional with over 17 years of recreation experience, is Salisbury’s new parks and recreation director. Her first day is Monday, May 6.
