Sixteen communities within the City of Salisbury will observe National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 6, with free music, food, children’s games and other outdoor activities, featuring officers of the Salisbury Police Department (SPD).
If you walk into the City Office Building, you will be greeted by Diana Cummings. She is a senior administrative specialist for the City of Salisbury Community Planning Services who has been employed by the City for 15 years.
This summer, the City of Salisbury welcomed its seventh year of Summer Youth Employees. The Summer Youth Employment program provides a six-week employment opportunity, designed to give high school and college students the knowledge and skills they need to succeed post-graduation. Those selected as summer youth employees spend time in different city departments such as IT, Planning, Parks & Rec, Communications, Transit, and more.

The Rowan EDC announced today that Henkel Corporation, a leading global manufacturer of adhesive technologies, laundry & home care and beauty care products, will expand its operations in Salisbury. The company will invest up to $45 million dollars in new equipment and a series of improvements at its Salisbury facility, including a new state-of-the-art production area for UV Acrylic Adhesives used in tapes and labels within the packaging and consumer goods industry.

Salisbury Police Department (SPD) has hired Alberta McLaughlin, DMin, as its first dedicated victim witness advocate. In her new role, she will be responsible for providing direct services to victims, including court accompaniment, financial assistance, crisis intervention and referrals to local service providers.

The Salisbury Community Action Teams will host its annual Community Resource Fair for parents and children of all ages, Saturday, Aug. 17, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hurley YMCA.
