In honor of Independence Day, Salisbury Transit will not operate Wednesday July 4th 2018. It will resume July 5th 2018 at 6:00am. Enjoy your Holiday.

Today, Salisbury City Council voted to approve the fiscal year July 1, 2018- June 30, 2019 (FY19) budget. 

Salisbury City Council and city staff will host the second in a series of community town hall meetings titled, Chit, Chat & Chew, Tuesday, June 26, beginning at 5:15 p.m., at J.C. Price Legion Post, 1433 Old Wilkesboro Road. This event will be held for residents in the Central City Square and “West End” area of the city, which encompasses neighborhoods such as the West End, Fulton Heights and West Square. 

During the month of July, every Saturday will be free fare.

The City of Salisbury invites residents to apply for the 2018 Citizen’s Academy -- a ten-week academy highlighting city operations.

The suspect in the bank robbery at First National Bank yesterday, and who subsequently was shot by a Salisbury Police Officer, has been identified as: Jerick Raheem Gray (4/19/76), a resident of High Point, N.C. Gray died yesterday evening at the hospital of injuries resulting from being shot by the officer. Gray was identified as the driver of the vehicle that officers pursued after the bank robbery.

On Thursday, May 31 at approximately 12:36 p.m. a person entered the First National Bank at 322 E. Innes Street in Salisbury and robbed the location of an undisclosed amount of money. Officers were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle and engaged in a multi-jursidictional vehicle pursuit, which led them to 1101 Mendenhall Street in the City of Thomasville.
