The Salisbury Police Department Police Chief Jerry Stokes has released the following statement regarding the shooting response and investigation at Thelma’s Down Home Cooking, 1935 Jake Alexander Blvd., where six victims were shot at approximately 12:05 a.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2020, following a party.
Officer Smith responded to a call on Monday, Sept. 16, 2019. The call was in reference to a stranded female looking for help in Salisbury with no money or way to travel. Officer Smith contacted the domestic violence shelter but could not find placement.
Cheerwine fans from across the country are invited to the fourth annual Cheerwine Festival, Saturday, May 16, in downtown Salisbury from noon to 10 p.m.
