The Salisbury Fire Department is joining the national campaign to celebrate Fire Prevention Week. The theme for 2019 is: “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!”

The goal is to educate people of all ages about the small but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.

The time to vote is approaching fast. The deadline to register to vote is Friday, Oct. 11.

If you are not registered by then, you can't vote in 2019. The Municipal Election is on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Salisbury Public Services Director Tony Cinquemani III has announced his retirement, effective February 2020, making way for W. Craig Powers’ promotion to lead the department.

The Salisbury Police Department Vice/Narcotics Unit with the assistance of the Salisbury Police Department CID and SRT, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department Special Investigative Unit and SRT, executed two simultaneous search warrants on Wednesday morning (9/25/2019). These search warrants were the result of a several month long investigation by the Salisbury Police Vice/Narcotics Unit. Multiple firearms and drugs were found during these raids. 

Project Safe Neighborhoods Rowan recently hosted a Violent Crime Incident Review. Members of the community, law enforcement, probation/parole officials and the US Attorney’s office of the Middle District attended. Statistics and data analysis were shared about Rowan County's violent crime incidents.
