Salisbury City Council and city staff will host the third in a series of community town hall meetings titled, Chit, Chat & Chew, Thursday, Aug. 23, with dinner beginning at 5:15 p.m., at Destiny City Church, 2324 S. Main St. This event will be held for residents in the “Southwest” area of the city, which encompasses neighborhoods such as the Lincoln Heights, King’s Forest, Matika Village and Forest Glen.
The Salisbury Police Department is pleased to announce the arrest of Juan Renardo Chunn (B/M 11/03/1968) for the April 19th, 2018, murder of his father Eugene Milton Chunn.

Early in 2018 a large Red Oak tree was identified as having some serious problems. Hurley Park's staff identified a cost-efficient way to prolong the tree's life.
Regarding the double homicide that occurred at Towne Creek Park in the 700 block of E Monroe St. on August 3, 2018 the following information is provided as an update:.
The Salisbury Police Department (SPD) responded to a 911 call regarding a disturbance in the 700 block of MLK Jr. Ave. S at approximately 4:10 p,m. While officers were arriving, an updated call indicated there were victims at the Towne Creek Park in the 700 block of E. Monroe St. As officers arrived they found a female and male victim suffering gunshot wounds in the park grounds.
