Salisbury Transit Seeking Public Comment on Changes to Service

The City of Salisbury Transit Department is seeking public comments on upcoming service changes. Starting in January 2026, the current transit Route 3 or Blue Route will be serviced with on-demand microtransit. The Salisbury microtransit pilot project will function as a rideshare service where passengers can request a same day pick-up.

City to Honor Alexander with Holiday Tree

The 2025 Alice and Fred Stanback Holiday Tree at Bell Tower Green Park will be sponsored by the City of Salisbury in memory of Mayor Karen K. Alexander. Alexander was appointed to the Salisbury City Council in 2013 and was elected to serve from 2015 until her passing in December 2024.

Shooting Suspect Arrested

On November 5, 2025, the Salisbury Police Department Violent Crimes Unit placed Messiah Swindell (25 years old) under arrest for the shooting that occurred on October 4, 2025, in the 1100 block of West Horah Street.

Greenway, Bicycle & Pedestrian committee meeting

The Greenway, Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee’s mission is to create a safe, connected, and accessible network of bike lanes, sidewalks, and greenways to encourage walking and cycling for transportation, recreation, and health benefits. To advocate for infrastructure improvements, policies, programs, and grants that prioritize alternative modes of transportation for the Salisbury Community. To promote collaboration and partnerships among city and county officials, and staff; tourism; advocacy groups; and the community to insure buy-in and support from the broader constituents. With a goal to integrate new pedestrian and bicycle plans and policy recommendations with existing efforts at local, county, and regional levels.
