The Fifth Annual Rowan Creek Week is happening from Saturday, Sept. 16 through Saturday, Sept. 23. The Salisbury Police Department (SPD) today released the video of one of their officers rescuing a non-responsive truck driver from a burning tractor-trailer on I-85. The incident occurred on Tuesday, Aug. 8.
SPD Lt. Corey Brooks was responding after hours to a separate incident shortly before 9 p.m. when he observed a tractor-trailer hit the retaining wall and catch fire. Without hesitation, Brooks stopped and ran to the truck's cab, where he found the driver, Michael Williams, unconscious.
