The 2020 General Election is approaching fast and with that, another important deadline will be here before we know it. That important date is Friday, Oct. 9. If you have not registered to vote by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, you will not be eligible to vote in the General Election held on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Salisbury Fire Department will join the national campaign to celebrate Fire Prevention Week, Sunday, Oct. 4 - Saturday, Oct. 10. 

The theme of the 2020 Fire Prevention week campaign is: “Serve up fire safety in the kitchen.” As cooking remains the leading cause of home fires, the goal is to focus on cooking fire safety involving cooking equipment and unattended cooking.

Downtown Salisbury, Inc. Announces Empire Hotel Redevelopment Request for Proposals

Downtown Salisbury, Inc. (DSI) has released a request for proposals (RFP) to qualified developers to purchase and redevelop the historic Empire Hotel located in downtown Salisbury. The newly-established Empire Hotel Redevelopment Task Force will be responsible for reviewing the proposals received electronically by the deadline of 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2.

2020 Census deadline fast approaching for Rowan County residents

The 2020 Census deadline is just days away, Wednesday, Sept. 30, and the current Rowan County response rate is below that of the 2010 rate. For every Rowan County resident who does not respond to the 2020 Census, the county loses $1,823 per person. Rowan County residents who have not responded to the 2020 Census should visit www.2020Census.gov or call 844-330-2020 to respond before Wednesday, Sept. 30.
