Double Homicide News Release from SPD

The Salisbury Police Department (SPD) responded to a 911 call regarding a disturbance in the 700 block of MLK Jr. Ave. S at approximately 4:10 p,m. While officers were arriving, an updated call indicated there were victims at the Towne Creek Park in the 700 block of E. Monroe St. As officers arrived they found a female and male victim suffering gunshot wounds in the park grounds.

Communities within the City of Salisbury will observe National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 7, with free music, food, children’s games and other outdoor activities, featuring officers of the Salisbury Police Department (SPD). The National Night Out celebrations are in addition to the centralized Community Block Party hosted by the Salisbury Police Department the week prior.

The Greenway, Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee’s mission is to create a safe, connected, and accessible network of bike lanes, sidewalks, and greenways to encourage walking and cycling for transportation, recreation, and health benefits. To advocate for infrastructure improvements, policies, programs, and grants that prioritize alternative modes of transportation for the Salisbury Community. To promote collaboration and partnerships among city and county officials, and staff; tourism; advocacy groups; and the community to insure buy-in and support from the broader constituents. With a goal to integrate new pedestrian and bicycle plans and policy recommendations with existing efforts at local, county, and regional levels.
