2022-2023 SYC Induction Ceremony

Calling Salisbury’s young environmental activists and filmmakers! Inside|Out Global and the City of Salisbury invite city youth to a weekend of film, fun, and food as you create short videos to inspire care for our environment.
This month’s employee spotlight is Jennifer Silvia, human resources analyst II/ benefits administrator. In her role, Jennifer is responsible for handling people-related concerns and needs that arise within the city. She administers benefits and assists with the retirement process, in addition to being involved with recruitment, onboarding, compensation, training and development for city employees.
The City of Salisbury employees are gearing up for the 2022 - 2023 Rowan County United Way Campaign. This year’s theme is “Whole Hearted Harmony.” Per the Rowan County United Way, “When community leaders embrace our diversity, leverage our combined resources, and partner with other Rowan residents, we extend and expand our ability to address the adversity that some citizens face.”
This month’s employee spotlight is Kaley Sink, a senior management analyst for the Finance Department. In her role, Kaley monitors budget expenditures, provides support to various City departments, and maintains information for the annual financial report.

This month’s employee spotlight is Alan Fowler, Laboratory Services Supervisor for Salisbury-Rowan Utilities (SRU).
This month’s employee spotlight is Paula Craven, a senior customer service representative. She celebrates her 10-year work anniversary with the City of Salisbury this month. In her role, Paula responds to residents’ requests over email and phone, interprets and translates for the Spanish-speaking community, and receives and processes municipal utility payments.

Road closures, detours expected along South Fulton, West Horah, Main, Fisher Streets
Salisbury will serve as the backdrop for an upcoming Hallmark Movie beginning next week. The production may affect travel near Salisbury High School, homes along the 400 block of South Fulton Street, and the 100 block of East Fisher Street, Tuesday, June 28 through Friday, July 1. Intermittent road closures also may occur on Saturday, July 2 along South Fulton Street. Detour signage will be in place.
