Salisbury Police Department Investigating an ICAC case 2-27-2025

On February 26, 2025, at approximately 9:30 PM, the Salisbury Police Department, with the assistance of the Rowan County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant at 502 Wesley Drive, Salisbury, NC. The search warrant was obtained due to an ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) case that the Salisbury Police Department Criminal Division started investigating earlier that day.

Detectives were able to obtain enough evidence to charge Thomas Dale Thumpert (45 years old) with two counts of First-Degree Sex Exploit of a minor, two counts of Second-Degree Sex Exploit of a minor, two counts of Third-Degree Exploit of a minor, and one count of Indecent Liberties with a child. Mr. Thumpert was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a 1-million-dollar bond.
