This month’s employee spotlight is Fern Blair, web and marketing services coordinator for the City of Salisbury Communications Department. In her role, Fern manages the city’s websites and branding, designs the monthly newsletter and provides marketing and design support to city departments for events, programs and educational initiatives. She also works on long-range projects such as the Resident’s Resource Guide, the City’s “Be the Difference” recruitment campaign and the micro-transit initiative.
“Before I came to the City I worked for an advertising agency where the goal was to help clients sell products to increase profits. I prefer working in local government because here, the goal is to inform residents about community events, bridge the gap between residents and the government services they need, and help make Salisbury a more equitable place to live. Knowing my work makes an immediate, positive impact in my community is what makes this job meaningful and rewarding.”
